Selam Bus Line Share Company gladly announces that the Sell of 4,800 shares each share valued at Birr 5,000 each plus subscription cost of 1% of the value of shares purchased payable in full on application at par for each value through the Branch network of Wegagen bank starting from April 20 2009.

To satisfy the increasing demand of public transport, to transfer ownership and to expand the capital of the company, the founding members decided in February 2006 to reduce Tigray Development Association's (TDA) investment to 40 per cent and gradually transfer the residual shares to the public. Following that, in October of the same year, the company sold 1,200 shares for 5,000 birr each through Wegagen Bank.

Selam's buses have 48 seats each with a body manufactured by a Brazilian company, Marco Polo. They are equipped with luxurious facilities for heightened comfort, including a refrigerator for onboard refreshments and audio-video entertainment facilities.

In the next five years, including the current Ethiopian budget year, the company has a target of increasing its fleet number to 75 buses and its asset base from 50 million birr to 80 million birr, or a 60 per cent increment through profit earnings and share sales. The net income target for the first year and five year cumulative profit is forecasted to be 3.3 million birr and 81.72 million birr, according to the company document.

Currently, Selam bus is operating in major towns including Dire Dawa, Harar, Jimma, Bahir Dar, Gondar, Dessie, Mekele and Jijiga on a daily basis from Addis Ababa, La Gare railway station.
