Selam offers second rounds of shares to public

Recently, Selam Bus Line offered a second round of 4,800 shares, worth 24 million birr.

Selam Bus Line Share Company gladly announces that the Sell of 4,800 shares each share valued at Birr 5,000 each plus subscription cost of 1% of the value of shares purchased payable in full on application at par for each value through the Branch network of Wegagen bank.

To satisfy the increasing demand of public transport, to transfer ownership and to expand the capital of the company, the founding members decided in February 2006 to reduce Tigray Development Association's (TDA) investment to 40 per cent and gradually transfer the residual shares to the public.

Selam Bus Company Introduces Luxury Coaches

Selam Bus Line Sh.Co. is being restructured to become a tourist transport service provider, moving away from the ordinary public transportation service it has been engaged in since February 1996. For the transformation, the company has imported 14 Scania buses from Brazil at a cost of 2.05 million birr each.

The market target of the company is to satisfy the ever growing number of middle income group who cannot afford airplane price and who don't want to travel by obsolescent buses. Selam's new buses have 48 seats each with a body manufactured by a Brazilian company, Marco Polo. They are equipped with luxurious facilities for heightened comfort including a refrigerator for onboard refreshments, Air conditioner and audio-video entertainment facilities. That is why Selam bus is the pioneer of quality service in the history of Ethiopian public transport service.

currently, Selam bus is operating to major towns including Diredawa, Harrar, Jimma, Bahirdar, Gondor, Dessie & Mekelle on a daily basis from Addis Ababa, Lagar railway station.

Selam Bus has introduced GPS on its luxuries coaches

Selam Bus has introduced the Global Positioning System (GPS) which is a global navigation satellite system (GNSS) that allows our company  to determine the current location of buses, the time, and their velocity. 

All Selam bus coaches use a unique Global Positioning System ( GPS) which enables us to control/eliminate unnecessary idling. GPS allows us to monitor speed and braking patterns thereby saving 5% on tire wear and saving 8% in fuel economy.

Selam bus holds its first regular general assembly of share holders

The first regular general assembly of share holders of Selam Bus Line Share Company has been held on Feb.07 2009 at Ghion Hotel.

The chairman of board of directors has presented the 2007/8 annual performance report of the company to the general assembly.  The external auditor also has reported its findings for the budget year under consideration. After thorough discussion, the general assembly has ratified both reports unanimously. 

 The general assembly has also approved the new constitution of Board of directors as well as the improved memorandum and article of association of the company.
